With the new Showtec DMX Merge, you can combine two DMX controllers into one DMX line or use a second desk as a back-up desk.
The device has 3 modes:
1) HTP (High Take Precendence) In this case, you can use two identical desks with the same addressing on one line. The DMX channel with the highest value has priority.
2) Back-up mode. The device is connected to two DMX desks. Channel A has priority. If channel A fails or has no DMX, channel B takes over the show.
3) Merge mode. Two desks can be combined for one line. For example, you can run a scene setter and DMX on one line. The scene setter controls channels 1-96, and channels 97 and higher are DMX-controlled: these positions can be freely addressed via dip switches.
