As one of the richest and most versatile reverb units ever built, the Alesis Microverb is a digital relic from the late 1990s that blurs the line between yesterday and the past. We have carefully recreated some of this unit’s most memorable sounds and enhanced them with several tasteful modern features. As a tribute to that era, we’ve named this model ‘CB Paint’. Much like the graphic design from which it takes its name, the Microverb seized control of studio-quality digital reverb and placed it in everyone’s hands. As digital reverb was still a costly affair back then, Alesis had to make some compromises in order to fit everything into both the form factor and the price bracket. These compromises manifest themselves in the form of interesting options for the reverb reflection filter, which embody this classic without the hassle of integrating it into a pedalboard. We have taken the liberty of equipping our CB Paint with six of the more unique patches from the original Microverb, as well as the Gate and Reverse patches, and adding a genuine Mix control, an adjustable low-pass filter and an ‘Onset’ control that determines how long it takes for the reverb to kick in after the initial input signal.
