Use the chain mode and create a polyphonic synthesiser by connecting two or more SE-02s via MIDI.
Developed in collaboration between Roland and Studio Electronics, the SE-02 is the debut product in the new Roland Boutique Designer series. The SE-02 synthesiser uses an authentic, discrete analogue circuit design for a distinct vintage sound with extensive programmability. Equipped with a large number of high-quality knobs and switches as well as a uniquely creative onboard sequencer, the SE-02 offers powerful sounds and textures including intuitive hands-on control.
The SE-02's monophonic sound generation features three voltage-controlled oscillators, a voltage-controlled 24 dB low-pass filter and an amplifier with double gain stage. The oscillators offer six different waveforms for a warm and complex sound character that only completely analogue VCOs can produce. In addition, the oscillators are temperature stable with automatic tuning, allowing you to utilise all the benefits without the usual compromises.
The SE-02 is a full-blown, massive synthesiser with fat, rich basses and clear, lively highs - exactly what you'd expect from a classic vintage synthesiser sound. In addition to breathtaking vintage sounds, the SE-02 offers you a lot more. These include three types of cross-modulation (XMOD), a rousing filter feedback loop, a tempo-synchronised LFO with nine waveforms, envelope shaping, oscillator synchronisation, a noise generator and a tempo-synchronisable delay.
Despite its compact dimensions for convenient mobile use, the SE-02 has robust and rich controls, switches and buttons that give you a wide range of sound shaping options at your fingertips. Each function has its own controller and can be controlled directly on the logically organised user interface. To get you started, 384 expert-programmed preset sounds are available, covering a wide range of vintage and modern sounds. In addition to optimising and modifying the presets, you can also create completely new sounds and save them in a total of 128 memory locations.
