Due to the HF technology used, the NTG-3B interference directional tube is relatively insensitive to moisture and can be used in extreme climatic conditions without any problems. This also applies to outdoor recordings at sub-zero temperatures: Condensation caused by temperature differences cannot affect the functionality of the NTG-3. Another feature is the sensationally low inherent noise (13 dBA). Its low weight and extremely effective attenuation of structure-borne noise make the NTG-3 the ideal sound fishing microphone.
