The RME 12Mic is a remote-controlled 12-channel microphone preamplifier with uncompromising A/D conversion, integrated AVB and MADI connectivity and a host of features that make it a perfect companion for any professional recording.

The first RME preamplifier for audio networks:

The RME 12Mic features twelve microphone and line inputs with uncompromising studio-quality digital conversion, remotely controllable gain levels, integrated MADI and AVB connectivity and a host of additional features - the perfect companion for any professional recording setup.

Twelve transparent microphone preamps for exceptional transducer performance:

The microphone input channels without PAD switch offer up to 75 dB gain for signals up to +18 dBu. On the transducer side, the 12Mic boasts an outstanding signal-to-noise ratio of 121.2 dB(A) on all channels. The twelve XLR connectors on the front process microphone and line signals, the first four of which are designed as combo connectors for TRS plugs and support the connection of high-impedance instrument signals (Hi-Z).

MADI & ADAT for maximum flexibility:

MADI inputs and outputs are available in coaxial and optical versions (via an SPF module) and support the daisy-chaining, merging and conversion of MADI signals with extremely low latency. The three optical ADAT outputs enable the transmission of up to 24 channels in single-speed mode (e.g. a combination of microphone inputs, MADI and AVB signals) or up to 12 output channels at 96 kHz sample rate and ensure compatibility with a wide range of audio interfaces. In addition, the ADAT ports can also be used to send monitor mixes from AVB or MADI input signals to external DA converters and/or headphone amplifiers.

Two fully redundant network ports:

For the first time RME presents an AVB device with two fully redundant network ports based on MILAN guidelines. The RME AVB Core consistently implements the IEEE standards for audio streaming, device detection and control. In this way, RME devices are recognised by any AVB controller and can be comprehensively controlled, making manufacturer-specific control protocols a thing of the past. Every signal arriving at the 12Mic can be streamed over a network with fixed latency and guaranteed bandwidth, without having to resort to a switch.

The Digiface Dante utilises RME's sophisticated drivers for Windows and Mac OS with the lowest latency and industry-leading stability. With TotalMix FX, not only is flexible routing possible, but you can also mix as many independent submixes as there are outputs available. The high quality headphone output offers fast playback of all audio channels or use it as a line output for an additional analogue stereo mixdown.RME has made the two BNC sockets for word clock I/O switchable to MADI I/O, for up to 64 channels. The sum of Dante and MADI, 128 channels, is transferred via USB 3.0 and handled by the Dante control software and TotalMix FX.Equipped with two banks of redundant network ports, the Digiface Dante is more than just an audio interface. It also offers the functionality of a switch, connecting up to four network linesWithout USB, the Digiface Dante automatically becomes a 64-channel Dante / MADI converter. The analogue stereo output can be pre-configured to output exactly the channels required.Like all current RME interfaces, the Digiface series also features the powerful TotalMix FX digital real-time mixer. It can perform virtually any mixing and routing processes with all inputs and playback tracks on any hardware outputs. The mixer offers a wide range of functions, including a control room section with talkback, main/phones, fader groups, mute groups, complete remote control via Mackie and OSC protocol, and much more. The Digiface series does not support DSP-based effects (FX) such as EQ or reverb.TotalMix Remote, extends the power of RME interfaces by enabling remote control via iOS, PC or Mac. With a straightforward setup process - you simply enter the IP address of the computer you want to control with TotalMix Remote - and instantly every aspect of TotalMix FX can be adjusted on a host system as you walk around the studio with your tablet, regardless of where the control room is located in your facility.
