Quested S8R Rosewood Edition

The S8R is the largest nearfield monitor in the S series and is suitable for a wide range of applications. The dual bass reflex system at the front not only minimises turbulence, but also allows the S8R to be positioned close to the wall. The 28 mm tweeter is driven with a full 150 watts sine wave, while the generous power amplifier headroom ensures extremely balanced and transparent treble reproduction. The power amplifier of the 8" woofer delivers 220 watts sine wave, and a pair of S8Rs can easily generate a sound pressure level of 113 dB.

On the rear of the S8R, the input sensitivity can be adjusted using a 10-position rotary switch, while treble and bass can be adjusted as required using a DIP switch. The S8R is equipped with an overheating and subsonic protection circuit, the Quested logo on the front also serves as an operating LED (green) and clipping indicator (red).

The 30 cm wide and almost 18 kg heavy S8R impresses with a neutral, articulate and accurate reproduction as well as an excellent stereo image with detailed depth gradation. It is suitable for a wide range of music styles from acoustic jazz, pop and rock to house and techno.

The frequency response ranges from 53 Hz to 20 kHz, assuming a tolerance of +/-2 dB, or 41 Hz in the bass with -6 dB. If you want to extend the transmission range of your S8R monitor even further downwards, you can combine it with the SB10R subwoofer, which plays confidently in the low bass down to 25 Hz (17 Hz/-6 dB).
