First-class audio quality and high-end converter: ESS Sabre32 DAC technology offers a dynamic range of 123 dB.
Extremely short latency and stable high-performance drivers: round-trip latency (RTL) performance of 1.6 ms at 96 kHz via Thunderbolt.
Mobile applications and universal connection options: Connect 8A to a computer or iPad via Thunderbolt, USB 3.0 or AVB Ethernet. Class-compliant firmware and drivers can be used with any audio software.
34 audio channels: 8 x 8 balanced analogue channels, 8 optical ADAT channels and additional headphone connection provide a total of 16 inputs and 18 outputs.
DSP mixing and effects processing: flexible mixing console with 48 inputs, 7 stereo aux busses, 3 groups, access to 64 network channels and with DSP effects such as reverb, 4-band equaliser, gate and compressor.
Web App Control: Control everything directly via your web browser using a computer, laptop, tablet or smartphone.
The 8A is the mobile, 9.5" version of the popular and award-winning MOTU 16A interface and is equipped with the same ESS Sabre32 DAC technology (high-end converter). It has a total of 34 inputs and outputs and can be connected to any computer or iPad via Thunderbolt, USB 3.0 or AVB Ethernet. The Class Compliant driver has extremely short latency times (1.6 ms at 96 kHz via Thunderbolt). The integrated DSP offers mixer functions for 48 channels, 12 stereo buses, 32-bit floating point processing, modulated analogue equalisers, vintage compression and classic reverb. The internal routing is extremely flexible - any output can be connected to any input or inputs can be split to multiple outputs.
The 8A can be used as a standalone mixer - and can be controlled directly via an iPad, iPhone, tablet, smartphone and laptop. A second MOTU AVB interface is simply connected via a network cable. Even more devices can be connected via the optional MOTU AVB Switch. An AVB network with several switches and a latency in the lower millisecond range is possible - even over very long cable runs. Hundreds of channels can be streamed between devices and computers over the entire network.
Whether studio or stage - the 8A offers the best audio quality, simple operation and great performance.
