The Lynx E22 PCI Express audio cards have been designed to meet the highest demands of professional recording studios, radio and television broadcasters.

Based on the popular and widely used Lynx L22 audio card, the E series represents a quantum leap in A/D and D/A conversion on a PCI Express card. The performance of the Lynx E22 audio card surpasses that of the Lynx Aurora converters.

Since 1998 Lynx Studio Technology has been supplying high quality audio cards designed specifically for 24/7 use. The new E Series continues this tradition seamlessly, with significant improvements in shielding from interference from the computer and its power supply.

The Lynx E22 PCI Express audio card is the successor to the Lynx L22.

The Lynx E22 cards are based on the most advanced design methods. Their components have been carefully selected to minimise noise and distortion. The circuit design is compact and designed to eliminate external influences. Capacitors with a solid dielectric guarantee high operational reliability and a long service life. A great deal of effort has been invested in the circuit layout on the PCI Express boards to ensure optimum positioning of the components and conductor tracks. The extensive use of copper layers for shielding and power supply guarantees the highest possible signal quality.

A particular challenge is the fact that the PCI Express bus of a computer does not supply any negative voltages, which are essential for supplying the analogue amplifier circuits. The E series therefore utilises a unique method of generating the required low-interference power supply, while at the same time offering high tolerance to poorly designed computer power supplies.

The use of Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA) is another core technology of Lynx audio devices. The E Series utilises the latest and most powerful components currently available. These ensure more than sufficient resources for the parallel processing of our 16 x 8 mixer and the V2 DMA engine for maximum throughput on the PCI Express bus, while minimising the load on the CPU. And as always, FPGAs can be updated at any time and upgraded with new functions available in the future.

Ideal areas of application are:

Recording and archiving historical and classic material with extremely high accuracy and transparency

Radio, television and broadcast applications around the clock

Audio measurements

Audio production

Medical, military and industrial applications that depend on capturing the complete audio spectrum and maximum reliability
