With the Pa5X, KORG is launching a feature-packed flagship arranger keyboard. The Pa5X, with its completely newly developed sound engine and user guidance, features a specialised user interface that makes the keyboard easier and more intuitive to use than its predecessors: logical colour-coding across multiple levels, large displays and buttons, photo-quality icons, clear graphics, thousands of inspiring sounds and vibrant styles for almost every musical genre.

The KORG Pa5X, with its 61 semi-weighted keys, features a unique function – exclusive to the Pa5X – of two completely independent players that can play styles, MIDI files and MP3 files in any combination! This also makes it possible to mix two styles or even play them back in sync. ‘Smooth Sound Transition’ ensures that no notes or effects are cut off during crossfading or switching.

Acoustic and electric piano sounds are sourced from the KORG SV2 stage piano, whilst synthesiser sounds come from instruments such as the NAUTILUS, wavestate and ARP2600. A special round-robin function ensures ultra-authentic and lively drum sounds.

The keyboard is beautifully crafted with an elegant design, featuring wooden side panels that nestle against a sturdy aluminium chassis. Real-time control of numerous parameters is made very easy by an additional strip display and the accompanying buttons and faders, as the display always actively shows the value of the respective parameter. Loading processes are a thing of the past; all files and styles are available at the touch of a finger, regardless of which connected storage medium they are saved on. An open storage structure allows for virtually infinite user folders, which can hold as much as the SD memory card (optional) – with a capacity of up to 1TB – permits. This makes compiling data from different users a breeze.

A powerful mixer with a built-in finaliser balances all styles and files to the same volume level. A large chord sequence library invites you to jam, whilst the 8-inch, tiltable and lockable tablet-quality touch display shows all chords, lyrics and even (MIDI file) notes in high-resolution.

In addition to the microphone socket (combo socket), there is a separate guitar input with its own gain control; up to four guitar effects can be saved as presets and recalled for each track in the freely programmable songbook. A four-part harmoniser is also included, as well as an auto-pitch function for contemporary vocal performances.
