Active or passive?
The fundamental PA question: active speakers bring their own power amp – connect mains and signal, done. That makes them the straightforward choice for bands, DJs and mobile sound. Passive cabinets need external power amplifiers, but shine in fixed installations: less technology on the ceiling, central maintenance in the rack and flexible power matching.
Sizing your PA system correctly
How much speaker does the room need? The rule of thumb weighs audience size, room acoustics and music style: speech and background music make different demands than a band with drums. Bass-heavy music calls for a subwoofer in the concept, and frequent load-ins make weight and pole mounts worth checking. Plan precisely rather than oversizing – we are happy to help with the maths.
Mains power? Not necessarily.
For street performances, sports events and open-air parties, battery-powered speakers have become the standard – PA sound without a power outlet, often with a built-in mixer and wireless options. Speaking of which: the matching mixing console and wireless microphones for vocals and presenting are right here in the shop.
