It is worth noting that the DSP, which utilises a high-quality BurrBrown A/D converter, only filters the subwoofer’s woofer. The signal path for the satellite speakers remains purely analogue and does not undergo any A/D or D/A conversion. When the ‘Pure Satellite’ function is activated, the subwoofer and the DSP filter section are completely bypassed. In this case, the satellite signals are routed to the outputs unfiltered and only the volume of the satellites can be adjusted.

The remote control supplied as standard with the subwoofer allows you to control the volume of the subwoofer and that of the entire stereo system – conveniently from your listening position.

The distinctive feature of our extremely powerful and highly precise subwoofers lies in the passive diaphragm used, which replaces the conventional bass reflex port. This design completely eliminates annoying airflow noises caused by air turbulence. Audible tube resonances (at Lambda/2 and multiples thereof) are inherent in a tube open at both ends (bass reflex port) and can be eliminated in all EVE Audio subwoofers thanks to the passive diaphragm design. Furthermore, the suspension of the passive diaphragm exerts a restoring force below the tuning frequency, thereby reducing inaudible subsonic deflections. This results in smaller deflections within the operating range and, consequently, reduced intermodulation distortion.

A passive diaphragm enables a particularly low tuning frequency or lower cut-off frequency within a compact enclosure.
