A special feature of the new EC2S heads is the Sound Shaping Technology newly developed by Evans. This technology makes it possible to provide each head with customised damping depending on its size. The damping material is not glued on, but is attached directly to the underside of the skin and varies in thickness and width depending on the skin diameter. This customised damping gives the new EC2S heads more tone, sustain and a crisp attack. In addition, the new EC2S heads have a greater tuning range and dynamic range.
