Elektron’s Syntakt is a 12-track drum machine and synthesiser – a sonic metropolis that fuses analogue and digital synthesis into an instrument with immense possibilities. All your needs for sound editing, sequencing and performance are met in a versatile musical powerhouse that fits in your lap.
Syntakt is a drum specialist with a wealth of percussive possibilities, but its 12 tracks can also be used for melody, harmony and bass sounds. With over 35 analogue and digital machines, experience sounds from the past and bring others from the future to life. For the uninitiated: the machines in the Elektron universe are specialised sound generators that are synthesised inside your synthesiser.
Shape the sound of each machine using the intuitive and playful interface. Select and route your tracks and external inputs via the FX track. You’ve got delay, reverb, analogue distortion and filters, as well as a few LFOs to play around with. With the four expressive modulators, you can unleash your sounds with varying speeds, retrigs and different settings for other parameters, and access a wide variety of scales via Keyboard Mode – some of which will be familiar to you, others less so – helping you to discover new places and take things to a whole new level. And last but not least, you can bring dynamic soundscapes to life with the top-class 64-step Elektron sequencer.
