The Efnote Pro professional electronic drum kit, which is causing quite a stir, not least thanks to the module and its accompanying stage box. During its development, the specific needs of musicians, sound engineers and music producers were taken into account and incorporated for the first time anywhere in the world.
With its open system architecture, the module allows for a wide range of configurations to meet the individual requirements of drummers.
The system consists of an electronic drum module and a separate stage box, which together form a single unit. Among other features, this offers trigger inputs for up to eight drums and seven cymbals, as well as 12 individual XLR outputs, monitor inputs and headphone jacks.
Using the bus mixer in the module, each of the 12 outputs can be freely assigned to a pad or a group. In addition, each bus channel is equipped with a 2-band equaliser and a compressor, ensuring flexible adjustment of the sound.
Naturally, all sounds can also be edited beforehand using pitch control, an equaliser or muting.
Furthermore, the stage box features three ground lift switches, one each for outputs 1–6, 7–12 and the monitor input.
As is customary with the Japanese manufacturer Efnote, the electronic drum sets are almost indistinguishable from an acoustic drum kit. All drums are made from 6-ply birch wood and are equipped with special multi-trigger technology. Consequently, not only the appearance but, above all, the feel, response and sound behaviour are absolutely lifelike. This also applies to the cymbal pads, as they can be played across their entire surface and exhibit a natural vibrational response.
Consequently, the sets in the Pro 500 and Pro 700 series are particularly well-suited for professional use at live concerts on stage and for recording in sound studios. To cover as wide a range of applications as possible, the sets from the 500 series, due to their smaller shell sizes such as the 16" kick drum, are more suited to club gigs, rehearsal rooms or hobby rooms. In the 700 series, on the other hand, the sets are based on a 20" kick drum, which is why they are particularly advantageous for use on larger stages.
Ultimately, artistic freedom determines which set or configuration is used in each situation.
The necessary flexibility is ensured by the comprehensive range on offer. In addition to the pre-configured sets, two expansion packs and all drum pads are also available individually.
