These microphones combine the legendary sound of the 4088 directional capsule with the lightweight, flexible d:fine™ headworn system. The d:fine™ 4188 directional headworn microphone is ideal for spoken word and vocals. It follows the DPA tradition of providing accurate and natural speech intelligibility and handling very high sound pressures - users can both speak and sing into the microphone without any sign of distortion.
This microphone offers excellent off-axis rejection at high SPL. It effectively suppresses distant sound sources, making it perfect for demanding live performances with potentially problematic background noise and feedback. At high SPL or feedback, the 4088 directional capsule overcomes such challenges with ease. The bass response has been designed for optimum linearity 2-3 cm away from the sound source. This means that the bass roll-off will be relatively clear at a greater distance - a very important factor when attenuating background noise and combating feedback. The microphone capsule is also characterised by low distortion and moisture resistance.
