SPL PQ

The PQ Mastering Equalizer is a two-channel, fully parametric five-band equaliser and a further development of the renowned SPL PQ Mastering Equalizer - Model 2050.

All five bands can be activated or deactivated individually and each band can be switched between constant-Q and proportional-Q separately. This circuit has never been realised in any other equalizer.

The auto-bypass also allows automatic switching in a freely selectable time window.

Another highlight is the ability to cut or boost the amplitude per band by up to 20 dB.

The maximum boost or cut also depends on the selected Q characteristic. Thanks to the 1/4 gain function, small corrections, as is often the case in mastering, or conversely, higher amplitudes in proportional Q mode, can be realised with pinpoint accuracy.

The basic technology, our 120 V technology, is common to both. The new PQ has the same outstanding technical features as its predecessor.

Each of the two channels can be completely deactivated or activated.

The bypass of the individual bands and the Q characteristic of the left side can be controlled from the right side in link mode.

If only small changes are to be made to the music material, the 1/4 gain switch can be used to reduce the amount of boost or cut by 3/4, reducing the potentiometer's control range from a maximum of +/-20 dB to +/-5 dB.

A perfect recall of all settings is easy to realise thanks to the detented potentiometers. The gain, frequency and Q parameters of the PQ Mastering Equaliser can be set in 41 steps using gridded potentiometers.
