These two outlets must be isolated from each other. You will receive the sum of the voltages (V) and not the current (mA). If you use it with two 9 V sockets with 100 mA each, you will get 18 V and still a maximum current of 100 mA. If you use it with two 9 V sockets with 200 mA each, you will get 18 V and a maximum of 200 mA. If you set it to 12V with two sockets with max. 200mA, you get 24V and still max. 200mA.
