Designed as a mobile counterpart to the Hi-X55, the over-the-ear Hi-X50 headphones offer maximum flexibility and stability as well as maximum comfort thanks to their ingenious folding design. All mechanically stressed components such as hinges or the headband are made of metal and guarantee a long service life even under the toughest conditions, whether for live or studio use.
The brand new 44 mm Hi-X driver was developed from scratch by Austrian Audio's acousticians. This newly developed "High Excursion" technology enables improved airflow and the strongest magnetic field in its class. The ring magnet system in combination with a copper-coated aluminium voice coil reduces the weight of the moving masses. This design enables significantly faster movements and directional changes. The result is a greatly improved reproduction of transients and level peaks, which is of central importance when working on today's digital recording and mixing systems and also guarantees precise reproduction of the low bass range.
A double-walled ear cup was developed and installed for the best possible attenuation of ambient noise, such as the suppression of cross-talk from the headphone signal to the recording. Another key criterion for headphones is wearing comfort. Special care was taken in the construction and materials of the ear pads, which combine a firm fit with a high level of comfort.
Developed and produced in Austria by an experienced team, the Hi-X headphones are perfectly tailored to today's demanding production conditions.
