The H6studio
Studio-quality sound for every recording - no matter where
Professional audio quality every time you press record
The H6studio features large diaphragm microphones in an XY arrangement, four studio-quality preamps and the 32-bit float recording process with its own gain controls. It is based on F-series technology, making it the most advanced recorder to date.
F-series preamps for maximum quality
The preamplifiers of the H6studio ensure extremely transparent audio transmission (-127 dBu EIN). In combination with two A/D converter stages and 32-bit float recording, they deliver a dynamic range of 132 dB, allowing every last detail to be recorded.
Larger microphones for a more powerful sound
The 19.4 mm capsules of the H6studio microphones are characterised by a fully linear frequency response with a high dynamic range for sound pressure levels of up to 140 dB SPL - enough for a jet engine.
A perfectly matched pair
The built-in microphones are aligned at a 90º angle and form a perfect X/Y pair.
This avoids phase cancellations that typically occur with AB and other microphone arrangements and can lead to an unbalanced sound.
Switch formats without changing the recorder
The 32-bit float and 16/24-bit formats each have their advantages. 32-bit float protects against clipping, but makes post-processing unavoidable. With 16/24-bit, post-processing is not necessary, but the gain must be set carefully to avoid clipping.
With 32-bit float and dedicated gain controls, the H6studio offers the best of both worlds: No risk of clipping, but also no need for post-processing. And thanks to the dedicated format switcher, you can customise your workflow instantly.
6 tracks + stereo mix
Record at sampling rates between 44.1 and 192 kHz. The H6studio can record on up to eight tracks* simultaneously: In addition to six individual tracks, a stereo mix can also be recorded.
*Up to eight tracks (six inputs + stereo mix) at 96 kHz
Up to six tracks (six inputs) at 192 kHz
No chance for background noise
The carefully designed RF shielding protects against interference from smartphones and Wi-Fi sources, while the elastically suspended microphones minimise handheld noise.
Limiters that work with foresight
The H6studio features advanced look-ahead limiters that detect any clipping in advance and prevent distortion before it reaches the recording track.
Four XLR/TRS inputs + stereo mini jack socket
The H6studio offers four XLR/TRS inputs with locking and +48V phantom power, which also support +4 dBu line level, as well as a stereophonic mini-jack*.
*Supports microphones powered by plug-in power.
Next generation capsule system
The H6studio's 3.0 capsule system supports 32-bit float technology, giving creatives additional options for choosing just the right microphone for their recordings. And if no capsule is needed, use the supplied cover for the microphone connection.
*Compatible with SSH-6e, EXH-6e, WLM-1, XYH-6e
Wireless capsule
The WLM-1* is a two-channel wireless system with two transmitters and one receiver. The microphone integrated in the transmitter picks up audio signals with up to 130 dB SPL in clear and balanced quality.
* Available in 2026, compatible with the 3.0 capsule system
Track the sound in real time
In practice, you can monitor input level peaks and recording waveforms simultaneously. Tap the DISP button to switch to either the level meters only or the waveform display.
Versatile output options
Headphone output
Use the high-level headphone output (20 mW) to monitor your recordings or listen to them afterwards.
Line Out
Use the stereophonic 3.5 mm LINE OUT mini jack output for direct connection to a camera to easily synchronise audio and video data.
Internal speaker
The internal speaker provides a maximum output power of 250 mW to pre-listen to the recording on location.
USB audio interface
You can use the H6studio as a USB audio interface with six inputs and two outputs for Mac, Windows, iOS, and Android, supporting 32-bit float and 16/24-bit recording. Stream and record a backup to the microSD card at the same time.
