Zildjian began offering Paper Thin cymbals back in the 1950s. After a thorough review of more than 70 years of cymbal trends for musical needs that still exist today, the result is a resounding response to years of customer demand for the return of this weight class. Thanks to new developments from Zildjian's research and development team, this new range complements the iconic K family with 18, 19, 20, 21 and 22 crashes that combine the popular Paper Thin qualities with the unique characteristics of larger cymbal sizes.
As strong as they are light, the K Paper Thin cymbals offer an explosive, dark crash with fast decay and a buttery smooth under-stick feel. A key feature is a novel three-stage hammering process that allows for flexibility and tonal nuances that contribute to the unique signature of these crashes. The very thin profiles allow for additional shimmer when crashing and provide a low-end resonance not found anywhere else in the K family.
