Developed through a collaboration between Seymour Duncan and Seth Lover, the SH-55 uses a nickel-silver cover and base plate, butyrate plastic bobbins, enamel-coated wire, Alnico 2 magnets, wooden spacers and black paper tape – just like the original PAFs.
To stay as true to the original as possible, the pickup cap has not been waxed. The sound is exactly like the old PAFs. The unvarnished cap provides a slightly microphone-like quality. It comes with a standard vintage-style lead cable.
