With the X1R, sE Electronics delivers an outstanding passive ribbon microphone at a low price. Here, sE's own technology from the Voodoo series has been combined with traditional ribbon technology. The result is a warm sound with a slight HF boost compared to many other ribbon microphones on the market.
To achieve this, a number of mechanical elements have been installed that already provide the extended high-frequency range in the Voodoo. Although the X1R does not deliver the full frequency range of the Voodoo or the highly acclaimed RNR1, it offers a very good mix of vintage and modern.
It has been designed for a wide range of recording applications and is suitable for miking guitar amplifiers, woodwind and brass instruments, string instruments and drum overheads.
