Roland analogue, rethought

The TR-1000 is the first Roland drum machine with true analogue sound generation in more than 40 years. It features 16 of the most sought-after circuits from the TR-808 and TR-909, faithfully recreated from the original designs with carefully selected modern components. The TR-1000 combines vintage soul with extended control options and delivers the authentic analogue TR sound, supplemented by new parameters and a significantly wider dynamic range.

Digitally modern.

In addition to its analogue heart, the TR-1000 features powerful digital sound engines based on the latest Roland technology. Our continuously evolving ACB (Analog Circuit Behaviour) technology enables detailed virtual analogue modelling, including 21 8X and 9X options that let you manipulate the 808 and 909 sounds in unprecedented ways. In addition, FM percussion, VA synthesis and a huge collection of PCM samples provide sonic discoveries and new digital textures.

Sample, stretch, slice, resample

The extensive sample tools fit seamlessly into the TR-1000 workflow, including stereo sampling and resampling, BPM sync, time stretching and non-destructive slice editing. The internal 64 GB memory contains a collection of 2,000 selected samples - the remaining 46 GB are available for your own recordings, edits and sample imports.

Analogue and digital effects

The TR-1000's extensive selection of effects includes a new analogue State Variable Filter (SVF) based on classic OTA designs, an independent analogue drive circuit as well as digital highlights such as crusher, filter, isolator, saturator, pitch delay, flanger and many more. In addition, reverb and delay sends are available for each track as well as a range of master effects for the sum.

Detailed sound design

Thanks to the powerful inline signal processing, you can quickly and easily create characteristic and dynamic rhythms with the TR-1000. Each track has a specific sound generator, a compressor, a multimode filter/4-band EQ as well as amplifier and envelope control. On four of the available tracks, two different sound generators can be combined or programmed independently of each other, supplemented by track-internal effects, internal sidechaining, output routing and an LFO with three selectable destinations.

The next step

The TR-1000's modern sequencer takes the famous TR workflow to the next level. Experience fluid and dynamic programming with precise live control, versatile pattern tools and incredibly flexible timing. Create rhythms using classic TR-REC step input, real-time recording and new off-grid programming for even more detailed grooves. You can also use the flexible input modes to easily customise the feel of a track or move individual steps to fit perfectly into the groove.

Dynamic pattern control

With the TR-1000's intuitive tools, you can programme lively patterns that evolve with every run. Motion recording allows you to record parameter changes live to add more modulation and movement to sounds and rhythms. You can also specify the direction for each track: forwards, backwards, oscillating and more. Define when steps are played in the cycle presets and use the probability function for each step to add variety and surprises.

Touch, trigger and transform

The TR-1000 is an instrument that wants to be played. With its intuitive user interface and the multitude of controls at your fingertips, you have immediate control over every detail of your performance. The high-quality rotary knobs and smooth, responsive faders allow you to control levels, effects and transitions with maximum precision. You can also use the new snapshot function to define selectable step buttons to quickly and easily recall all control positions for a specific instrument.

Morph and manipulate

The new morph slider adds a new level of expression to the TR experience. You can assign it to a variety of combined parameters to create wild macro controls, smooth transitions or radical transformations with a simple movement. Unique morph settings are available for each pattern, bringing every moment of a performance to life.

Versatile connections

The TR-1000 has a stereo main output, an analogue FX output and ten connections that can be used either as individual audio outputs or as analogue trigger outputs for external gear. There is also an independent trigger I/O, a filter/CV input, a clock output and a dual mono/stereo input for sampling and processing signals using TR effects. On the front you will also find a headphone connection with independent volume control for easy monitoring.

Synchronisation via USB, MIDI and DIN

The TR-1000 includes a multi-channel USB-C audio/MIDI interface for easy connection to a computer. The versatile USB port supports flash memory for system data transfer, data backup/restore and WAV audio import/export. MIDI controllers such as the Roland A-49 or the A-PRO series can also be connected. There is also a MIDI I/O and a DIN Sync interface for synthesisers and drum machines from the pre-MIDI era.

TR-1000 software

With the TR-1000 software, you can control the hardware from your computer, edit parameters in real time on a large screen, manage your own sound collection and more.

The future in sight

The TR-1000 is built on a robust DSP and firmware foundation that easily supports future sound engines, new features and system updates, extending the life and usability of the instrument for years to come.
