The Reporter is a handheld microphone with a dynamic capsule with an omnidirectional characteristic and is therefore significantly easier to use than the cardioid microphones often used for interviews, which always have to be held right in front of the speaker's mouth. Its transmission range has been specially tuned to voices and therefore guarantees optimum intelligibility. The microphone has a cast aluminium housing with a matt black finish. The multi-layer grille protects the capsule from background noise and often eliminates the need for a bulky windscreen. Included is a "flag stand" which can be customised with the station's logo etc. The RØDE Reporter is manufactured in Australia and allows the RØDE warranty to be extended to 10 years free of charge.
