NUX’s Mighty technology already has a strong reputation: no wonder, as the quality of the amp and effects simulations produced by the realistic TS/AC-HD algorithm has already won over many professionals and critics.
NUX’s new top-of-the-range portable amplifier offers the latest sounds and features from NUX’s dedicated development department. The Mighty Space is a stereo ‘desktop’ modelling amplifier with an output of 30 watts, powered by a rechargeable battery.
The sound is delivered via two coaxial 4-inch speakers and a bass-reflex system, enabling the compact cabinet to deliver a balanced and impressive stereo sound quality! In addition, for a wider and louder sound, a speaker output (4, 8 and 16 ohms) is available to connect a 4x12 cabinet if desired. Be honest, when was the last time you powered a half-stack with a battery-powered amp?
The battery life is 7 hours – so the Mighty Space isn’t just designed for practising in the office. In addition, the amp is fitted with a NUX B5 Wi-Fi receiver (transmitter included), allowing you to play from a distance of around 10 metres, completely without a jack cable. This ensures an even more unrestricted experience. Connection via a standard jack socket is, of course, still possible; this socket also allows you to charge the Wi-Fi transmitter.
The amp also offers further wireless features: the integrated Bluetooth system allows you to manage the audio stream and presets/modelling amps easily via the Mighty Amp mobile app. Furthermore, The Mighty Space features all the well-known models of amplifiers, speakers and effects, which have been specially reworked for this amp: in total, it offers 21 amps, 34 IRs and 43 effects for guitar and bass.
Each preset comprises a total of 10 blocks of modular effects, which can be arranged in any order you wish; the volume of the preset can also be adjusted individually. A total of 7 presets can be configured, saved and shared. The ‘Active’ function allows you to select your favourite presets to create a personalised selection.
All of this can be controlled via the free Mighty Amp smartphone app (Android/iOS). It offers virtually endless sound possibilities in studio quality, with a direct, natural playing feel thanks to a latency of just 1.2 ms. When connected via the USB port, the Mighty Space offers the benefits of a genuine audio interface for easy recording, streaming or reamping. The Mighty Editor software (PC/Mac) allows you to edit and save your presets, as well as integrate third-party IRs (impulse responses) with automatic WAV formatting.
Furthermore, the ‘Drum & Amp’ feature offers a looper function and a configurable drum machine via the Mighty app. This allows you to load backing tracks tailored to your chosen musical style, and to jam or practise along with artists’ backing tracks or your own. With the backing tracks, you can also set specific points at which an automatic preset change should occur whilst the backing track is playing.
The included NMP-2 footswitch is particularly handy for controlling the Drum & Amp function, allowing you to trigger loops or scroll through presets. As a smart and modern tool, the NUX Mighty Space frees you from the constraints of power adaptors and jack cables, giving you access to a world of flexible and inspiring sounds with just a few clicks!
