Experience three-dimensional, truly immersive sound through Neumann headphones. RIME - Reference Immersive Monitoring Environment - is a DAW plug-in for mixing and mastering in multi-channel formats such as Dolby Atmos. Thanks to Neumann technology and AMBEO algorithms, RIME creates an amazingly realistic 3D sound image that translates perfectly to other playback systems.

Instead of confusing the user with a multitude of different sounding virtual rooms, RIME reproduces a reference room in the highest quality as a "single source of truth".

RIME is based on a real, purpose-built studio room that has been equipped with reference-quality Neumann equipment throughout. Our acoustic experts installed an immersive setup of Neumann KH-Line loudspeakers and subwoofers that were precisely tuned using MA 1 Automatic Monitor Alignment. The three-dimensional sound field was captured with the legendary KU 100 binaural artificial head microphone, connected to Neumann's highly acclaimed MT 48 audio interface with state-of-the-art preamp and converter technology from Merging Technologies. This state-of-the-art setup ensures perfect sound quality across the entire signal chain.

RIME is a dedicated solution for Neumann headphones, specifically tailored to their unique acoustic properties and exceptionally consistent sound. This makes RIME a reliable solution for mixing and mastering in multi-channel formats when a dedicated listening room with an immersive speaker setup is not available. If you already have an immersive setup with KH-Line studio monitors, RIME allows you to seamlessly switch between speaker and headphone playback. Finally, immersive content can be created anywhere.

For added realism, RIME supports OSC-compatible head trackers to create a listening experience that responds to head movements.

Optimised stereo playback

RIME can also be used for stereo playback to enjoy a speaker-like listening experience - without the in-head localisation typical of headphones. In this way, mixes can be checked for compatibility with all playback systems.
