The KH 870 II AES67 surpasses its predecessor in acoustic performance and offers new features. Thanks to two new 10-inch long-throw woofers with Extremely Linear Force Factor (ELFF™) technology and intelligent protection limiters, the KH 870 II AES67 ensures exceptionally low distortion even at maximum sound pressure levels.

The KH 870 II AES67 extends the reproduction of low frequencies down to 16 Hz and delivers approximately twice the power of the KH 810 II. This makes the KH 870 II AES67 the perfect complement to midfield monitors such as the KH 420.

The KH 870 II AES67 is DSP-controlled, providing excellent sound quality and seamless integration via MA 1 Automatic Monitor Alignment (sold separately). In combination with analogue Neumann studio monitors such as the KH 120 A (no longer available), KH 310 or KH 420, it offers sufficient DSP power to tune the entire stereo surround or even immersive system up to 7.1.4 with MA 1 and thus optimise not only the frequency response but also the phase. Of course, the KH 870 II AES67 is also a perfect complement to Neumann's DSP-controlled studio monitors. In surround and immersive systems, analogue and DSP-equipped Neumann loudspeakers can be combined with MA 1 with Multichannel Extension (available separately) and adapted to the room. This makes the KH 870 II AES67 much more than "just" a subwoofer: it is the perfect tool for upgrading existing systems and/or expanding them for immersive audio.

With its redundant AES67 connections, this subwoofer is a complete solution for integrating the entire speaker setup into an audio-over-IP infrastructure. The KH 870 II AES67 can receive up to 12 network audio channels played back by the subwoofer itself and up to 11 studio monitors connected to its analogue and digital outputs.

Precision in every detail

As subwoofers are usually placed on the floor, a robust grille protects the driver from accidental damage. The solidly constructed cabinet features a highly efficient bass reflex system that is carefully designed and tuned to ensure precise bass reproduction without audible port noise.

For multi-channel operation, the KH 870 II AES67 offers two Sub-D25 connectors for analogue connection and seven AES3 outputs (BNC) for digital connection of up to 11 studio monitors. All analogue inputs and outputs are electronically balanced. The AES3 outputs (BNC) are compatible with the S/P-DIF inputs of Neumann studio monitors via a BNC-to-RCA cable.

Two network ports provide redundant AES67 audio-over-IP connectivity with up to 12 input channels. The KH 870 II AES67 can thus be used as a hub receiving multi-channel audio and distributing it to up to 11 additional speakers via analogue or AES3 (BNC) connections, including its internal bass management.

The KH 870 II AES67 is ideal for music, film, broadcast and post-production studios for tracking, mixing and mastering. Thanks to an innovative power amp design, the KH 870 II AES67 combines outstanding audio performance with excellent energy efficiency. Its auto standby function can be deactivated in the MA 1 app.
