The basswood Dinky body is paired with a sturdy, graphite-reinforced, three-piece, bolt-on maple/wenge/maple neck. The satin finish on the back of the neck ensures greater playing comfort, whilst a truss rod adjustment wheel at the base of the neck allows for quick and easy adjustment of the neck curvature. Designed for fast and delicate playing, the bound ebony fingerboard with a 12–16-inch radius features 24 stainless steel jumbo frets and staggered mother-of-pearl inlays. For musicians performing live, the glow-in-the-dark Luminlay ® side markers help them find their way around the fretboard even on the darkest stages.
Active, multi-voice Fishman ® Fluence ® Open Core PRF-COC humbuckers at the bridge and neck give this powerful instrument its dynamic sound – from overdriven, powerful crunch tones to vintage snap. With the five-way switch set to pickup positions one (full bridge) or five (full neck), you can use the push/pull tone control to switch from Voice 1 to Voice 2. Pickup positions two, three and four all offer the single-coil sound of Voice 3.
Once you’ve tuned the EverTune ® F6 bridge, it will never go out of tune again – making this DK Modern the perfect instrument for both studio and live performances. Even if the van breaks down on the way to your next gig, you can still turn up late, skip the soundcheck and walk onto the stage with confidence.
