Gonzales reeds are characterised by their superior wood quality and distinctive sound. Gonzales cane is grown without the use of pesticides, a decision made consciously and entirely naturally.
Thanks to the ideal climatic conditions in Argentina, the reeds offer excellent vibrational properties and, consequently, outstanding overall quality. The cane, harvested in winter, is laid out in the sun to dry for a month. By turning it repeatedly, the raw material acquires its golden-yellow colour.
Before the next stage of production, the dried raw material is sorted into different quality grades by specially trained staff.
Using 3D measuring equipment, the reed thickness can be precisely determined and the reeds allocated to the various thickness grades. By involving professional musicians in the manufacturing process, consistently high quality and continuous development can be guaranteed.
