Focusrite Scarlett OctoPre

Recording with Scarlett microphone preamps: The eight natural-sounding Scarlett microphone preamps of the current generation have microphone and line inputs, as well as two instrument inputs on the front. The new preamps work very cleanly, offer plenty of gain reserves, very low noise and switchable pads for additional headroom.

Focusrite Precision A/D Conversion: Precise Focusrite A/D conversion you can rely on - for recording and mixing. With up to 109 dB dynamic range.

High-resolution audio: Works with 24-bit A/D conversion and sample rates of up to 192 kHz.

Connect directly: Two of the mic preamps feature instrument inputs with extra-large headroom to handle even the hottest pickups without unwanted distortion.

Great for drums: The preamps are optimised for handling extremely high levels, e.g. from kick or snare drums.

Eight line outputs: Perfect for live use. Send the line output signals to a live mixing console while simultaneously recording the signals from the digital outputs.

Accurate level meters and control: Five-segment level meters on each channel and the latest generation of gain controls for even more precise adjustment.

Easy connection via the ADAT interface: Using optical cables, the

Scarlett OctoPre can be instantly connected to any other audio interface with ADAT inputs via optical cables. Dual ADAT connections provide eight channels of mic, line and instrument signals (at 96 kHz, four channels at 176.4 and 192 kHz).

48 volt phantom power: Perfect for operating condenser microphones. Phantom power is available in every channel.

State-of-the-art digital clocking: WordClock input and output for complete integration into digital systems. Jitter elimination with the industry standard JetPLL™ ensures super-solid and stable clock performance.

Scarlett OctoPre features eight microphone inputs with second generation Scarlett preamps. There are also balanced line inputs which, like the mic inputs, pass through Focusrite's precision 24-bit converters at up to 192kHz and 109dB dynamic range. The easily accessible instrument inputs on the front panel offer more than enough headroom to cleanly process even the hottest guitar pickup signals. The inputs offer plenty of headroom and additional pad switches on each channel. This makes Scarlett OctoPre the ideal solution for recording not only drums, but also guitars, keyboards, vocals and more.

The eight balanced line outputs are tapped directly from the inputs. In parallel, the signals can be recorded digitally via the ADAT output. The ADAT interface offers a quick and easy way to increase the number of analogue inputs. This interface works with inexpensive "fibre optic cables", i.e. optical cables, which can be used to transmit up to eight audio channels. Simply connect the ADAT output of OctoPre to an ADAT input on your interface, set the desired sample rate and you're ready to go. Many interfaces from Focusrite or other manufacturers are now equipped with an ADAT input.

SE electronics DM2 T.N.T
Manufacturer:
The DM2 T.N.T is an active inline preamplifier based on the design of the sE DM1, but offering even more gain and less noise with greater flexibility. The integrated, recessed switch allows you to select a clean, transparent gain of a moderate 15 dB or an explosive 30 dB - more headroom and an extremely clean signal, with an ultra-high impedance input and eight selectable load settings to perfectly match any microphone. It is suitable for direct connection to the output of a passive ribbon or dynamic microphone, eliminating the need for an additional cable.Switchable, clean gain from a moderate 15 dB to an explosive 30 dB:Two amplifier stages provide even greater flexibility with different microphones, designed for neutral, balanced sound quality and extremely low noise. The uncompromising design amplifies the signal regardless of load impedance or cable length. The DM2 T.N.T can be perfectly combined with any passive microphone, boosts the signal, reduces the occurrence of interference and provides a significantly better level for the preamplifier of the audio interface / mixer - all without noise and colouration!Get the best out of the microphone thanks to the variable input load:Conventional inline preamps tend to load the transducers of passive microphones due to their electronic design, resulting in a degradation of sound quality and output level. The ultra-high impedance input of the DM2 T.N.T promises the best possible signal quality, regardless of the load of the microphone. The selectable impedance of the DM2 invites experimentation - it can be adjusted from an unconventionally low 50 to an astonishingly high 10 M to match the preamp to any microphone and achieve a clean recording with the lowest possible noise. The DM2 T.N.T was developed to bring out the best sound characteristics of each microphone.Sophisticated Class A electronics with additional output stage:With a sophisticated electronic design and specially selected high-quality FET transistors, the DM2 T.N.T has the lowest self-noise in its class and enables effortless studio-quality recordings. Unlike other commercially available inline preamplifiers, the DM2 T.N.T delivers a constant gain of +15 dB / +30 dB regardless of the connected load. An ideal tool for sound engineers, the DM2 T.N.T's output impedance is also the lowest in its class, allowing it to handle long cable runs with ease while reducing susceptibility to RF interference, hum and noise.Slim, robust all-metal housing with premium finish:Even in the most demanding environments, the DM2 T.N.T scores with a stage-ready and sleek all-metal design, robust construction, high-quality manufacturing standards and a gold-plated XLR connector for reliable lossless signal connection, whether on stage or in the studio. With its exceptionally practical, phantom-powered design that requires no external power supply, the sE DM2 T.N.T is the ultimate game changer in your pro audio arsenal.
