Intuitive compressor/boost for guitars and basses. With low-noise compression, the Bends V2 produces beautiful tube sounds ranging from modern to vintage. Unlike conventional OTA circuits, this compressor responds in real time to your playing dynamics by adjusting the gain. The result is a consistent tone across both loud and soft passages; sustain is extended, and notes sound rich and full-bodied.
The Bends V2 simplifies compression with three controls: an attack switch with three speeds, a finely tuned release, and an input control for the level of the input signal that triggers the compressor. An active tone control with mid-range detent tames or boosts the treble to compensate for any loss of sparkle. The blend control ensures the right mix of clean, dynamic signal and compression. On the rear panel is the Vintage switch; this is the ‘secret ingredient’ that lets you switch this circuit from a crisp, punchy response to creamy, smooth compression, with a hint of natural saturation.
Combine ultra-clean boost and compression into a magical cocktail: the Comp Pre/Post switch reconfigures the internal circuitry and swaps their positions. Put the boost before the compression, and voilà – epic Nashville sustain. Or stack the boost behind the compressed signal, let it really pop, and send plenty of headroom to the next effect.
With an independent boost circuit, switchable buffered/true bypass and a multi-function footswitch (on/off or hold), the Bends V2 is a feature-packed compressor that tames the dynamics of any instrument in a natural-sounding way.
