To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Stratocaster® - the platinum anniversary of the best electric guitar in the world - the Fender Custom Shop introduces the Limited Edition 70th Anniversary 1954 Stratocaster®. Its two-piece body made from select ash (with offset seaming on the treble side) sounds with singing highs, sweet mids and tight lows and sports a beautiful Wide Fade Two-Color Sunburst finish.
The one-piece quarter-sawn maple neck features a special 70th Anniversary Soft "V" profile based on an incredible Strat® neck from July 1954. It features a vintage compound radius fingerboard (7.25" to 9.5") with 21 medium vintage frets (47095) and a 1.625" bone nut. Three hand-wound Custom Shop '54 Strat® pickups deliver the classic Strat® voice with clear, bell-like highs routed through vintage '54 Strat® wiring with wax paper cap and five-way switch.
Other premium features and authentic first-year Strat® appointments include a single-ply white pickguard and backplate with serial number, 1954-style white ABS pickup covers and knobs, a Custom Shop vintage synchronised tremolo bridge, vintage-style tuners, a disc tailpiece, a special 70th Anniversary Stratocaster® neckplate, a deluxe embroidered hardshell case, a special "Case Candy" set and a certificate of authenticity.
