The Fender® American Vintage II series is not only visually inspired by the historic designs that wrote music history. We have also reproduced many details typical of the era exactly: Bodies, necks and hardware, premium finishes and pickups that are carefully matched to the tone of the original model year. Thanks to traditional Fender craftsmanship, each instrument embodies the authentic character and sound of the original model.

The Telecaster® Thinline made its debut in July 1968 with a semi-hollow design that allowed us to build a lightweight instrument from the relatively heavy ash wood. At the end of 1971, the new creation was given an expansive pearloid pickguard with two wide range humbuckers. by 1972, the second generation Telecaster Thinline had successfully completed its first year of production. Incidentally, it was the first six-string Fender instrument with humbucker pickups and the first Tele® with six individually adjustable string saddles. The American Vintage II 1972 Telecaster® Thinline has the same sound, look and feel as the original.

The hard rock maple neck with 7.25" fretboard radius and vintage tall frets is fantastically comfortable to play. The sound of the American Vintage II 1972 Telecaster® Thinline also spoils even the most demanding players, as the humbuckers are fitted with our original CuNiFe magnets. Also typical of the 1972 production year are the bullet neck setting and the triple-bolted neck plate with micro-tilt tuners, the tuners with F-embossing and the string-through-body bridge with six bent steel string riders. The semi-hollow ash body is available in Aged Natural, 3-Colour Sunburst and Lake Placid Blue.

The American Vintage II series brings back classic Fender models in their original form. Ideal for musicians who love our vintage tone and feel and appreciate the highest quality - down to the last screw. Fender American Vintage II. The stuff legends are made of.
