The Fender® American Vintage II series presents masterfully crafted replicas of the revolutionary models with which Fender made music history. Each instrument contains bodies, necks and hardware typical of the era, is refined with premium finishes and carefully tuned to the sound of the historic original. So that the reproductions not only look like their famous ancestors, but also sound like them.
Time is relative. The American Vintage II 1965 Stratocaster sounds as fresh as if it had just been launched. Yet it dates back to the mid-1960s. In this crazy decade, the music world was changing rapidly and the Stratocaster® played a big part in this. Today it is considered the most important guitar in rock history. This wild energy of change and transformation can be found in the 1965 Stratocaster®. It has a maple neck in C-profile from 1965 with a play-friendly laminated (round-lam) rosewood fingerboard and large pearloid dot inlays. Other authentic details: white three-ply pickguard with 11 screws, Transition logo with large letters and, of course, the ingenious "Gray Bottom" Pure Vintage 1965 pickups.

Fender is recognised as one of the greatest manufacturers and pioneers of solid body guitars. As the creator of the Telecaster and Stratocaster, founder Leo Fender created milestones in the history of electric guitars and thus a cult following. The name Fender alone is enough to evoke melodies, memories and emotions in the mind. When you hear a Fender Telecaster or a Fender Stratocaster, legendary songs such as "Purple Haze" by Jimi Hendrix, "Smoke on the Water" by Deep Purple and "Cocaine" by Eric Clapton immediately spring to mind. There is also a long history behind the famous Fender amps. Leo Fender started building guitar amps even before he built his first guitars. These were of course built using tube technology, Fender only started with solidstate models in the late 60s...
