Bass drum cushion

The Evans EQ PAD is an effective, freely adjustable bass drum mute that allows you to control response and sustain much better than with pads or blankets. It is attached to the bass drum with Velcro. The pad only dampens the batter or resonance head. Two pads are required to dampen both heads.
