OUTBOX 8 The Outbox 8 is a versatile 8-channel audio/CV breakout box and USB host/device, designed to expand your connectivity options and open up new creative possibilities. It adds eight fully configurable physical outputs to a connected device, allowing you to send audio and CV signals in any combination that the device supports.
Route your audio signal channel by channel to mixers, effects and more. Or convert MIDI to CV signals to control your modular system and other CV-controllable devices – exactly as you need.
Outbox 8 is compatible with Elektron devices that support Elektron Overbridge, with USB-Class-compliant MIDI devices, and with many USB-Class-compliant audio devices. USB-MIDI support is comprehensive, whilst audio compatibility may vary depending on the manufacturer and firmware; the latest confirmed devices can be found on Elektronauts. Outbox 8 also functions as an audio interface, adding eight additional outputs to your computer. Connect your smartphone and use it as a USB audio interface with eight outputs. Route channels from your DAW to mixing desks, effects, monitors or other external hardware, and convert MIDI to CV as required.
Sending audio
With the Outbox 8, you can route individual tracks or submixes from your compatible Elektron device for external processing, mixing or live performance.
Send CV
With the Outbox 8, you can assign outputs to CV functions – Pitch, Gate, Trig, Value Line or Clock – to integrate modular and other CV-controllable devices into the same setup.
MIDI to CV
Use the Outbox 8 as a dedicated USB-MIDI-to-CV interface. Play, sequence, modulate and synchronise modular systems and other CV-capable instruments with your Elektron device. Or connect a MIDI controller to play and control them directly.
