The Efnote Pro is a professional e-drum set that has caused quite a stir, not least because of the module and the accompanying stage box. For the first time worldwide, the special needs of musicians, sound engineers and music producers were taken into account and realised during development.
With its open system architecture, the module enables a variety of configurations to meet the individual requirements of drummers.
The system consists of an e-drum module and a separate stagebox, which together form a single unit. This offers trigger inputs for up to eight drums and seven cymbals as well as 12 individual XLR outputs, monitor inputs and headphone connections.
With the bus mixer in the module, a pad or group can be freely assigned to each of the 12 outputs. In addition, each bus channel is equipped with a 2-band equaliser and a compressor, which ensures flexible adjustment of the sound.
Of course, all sounds can also be edited in advance using pitch adjustment, equaliser or muffling.
In addition, three ground lift switches are built into the stage box, one each for outputs 1-6, 7-12 and the monitor input.
As you would expect from the Japanese manufacturer Efnote, the e-drum sets are confusingly similar to acoustic drums. All drums are made of 6-ply birch wood and are equipped with a special multi-trigger technology. This means that not only the acoustics but above all the playing feel, response and sound behaviour are absolutely realistic. This also applies to the cymbal pads, as they can be played on the entire surface and have a natural vibration behaviour.
This makes the Pro 500 and Pro 700 series sets particularly suitable for professional applications at live concerts on stages and recordings in recording studios. In order to cover the widest possible range of applications, the sets from the 500 series are more suitable for club gigs, rehearsal rooms or hobby rooms due to their smaller shell sizes, such as the 16" kick drum. In the 700 series, on the other hand, the sets are based on a 20" kick drum, which is why they are particularly advantageous for use on larger stages.
Ultimately, artistic freedom determines which set or configuration is used in the respective situation.
The flexibility required for this is ensured by the extensive range on offer. In addition to the pre-configured sets, two expansion packs and all drum pads are also available individually.
