With Nymphes, the cult synthesiser manufacturer from Athens once again delves deep into Greek mythology. The inspiration for this came from none other than Homer, who, as early as around 700 BC, described nymphs as beings of divine descent in his *Odyssey*.
Nymphes is an extremely compact, six-voice, fully analogue desktop synthesiser. Per voice, it offers a ‘waveforming’ oscillator plus a sub-oscillator, two envelopes, noise and an extremely fast LFO featuring five waveforms, key tracking, fade-in and fade-out. In addition, there is a further shared LFO (LFO2) with the same features, which can modulate any single parameter or multiple parameters simultaneously with varying intensity and extends into the FM range. In addition to a resonant 24 dB low-pass filter with precise tracking, a further 6 dB high-pass filter is available. Its 6 voices can be managed across 6 ‘play modes’, including an extremely rich unison mode. Seven chords can be saved per preset for ‘Chord Mode’. The impressive basic sound is enhanced by a rich reverb, which blends seamlessly with the sound generation and lends the sound additional depth. Connectivity to external devices is via MIDI (3.5 mm jack) or USB, whilst USB also serves as the power supply.
