The main features of the 4011 cardioid microphone are its directionality and attention to detail. With this microphone, everything simply sounds like the original. The first-order cardioid characteristic ensures excellent separation of the sound sources.
It is just as suitable for close-up recordings of acoustic guitar, piano, overheads, percussion, wind instruments and vocals as it is for support miking of symphony orchestras. It is designed for incredibly high sound levels and the 20 dB pad switch in the centre of the XLR connector attenuates the microphone output.
A linear on-axis frequency response and excellent phase response ensure completely faithful sound reproduction. The off-axis frequency response is similarly even, so that any interference is faithfully reproduced, albeit attenuated in accordance with the first-order cardioid characteristic.
This condenser microphone is highly regarded worldwide in recording studios and live performances as an exceptional microphone. A careful selection of state-of-the-art components ensures optimum neutrality, accuracy and extremely low distortion.
