The KORG SV-1 Stage Vintage Piano caused a sensation when it was launched over 10 years ago with its iconic design and simple operating concept and has been used by countless renowned musicians in studios and on stages around the world ever since. The SV-2 follows the same philosophy as its legendary predecessor, but expands the range of functions and sound quality many times over. The iconic design and the still intuitive user interface have remained the same. But under the bonnet, a few things have changed significantly. The SV-2 has a huge sample memory of several gigabytes, which of course benefits the acoustic piano sounds in particular. The SV-2 has room for no less than four high-calibre concert grand pianos (German Grand, Austrian Grand, Italian Grand and Japanese Grand) and two upright pianos (Japanese Upright and German Upright). Thanks to the use of the latest sample technologies and the SV-2's large internal memory, the sounds are in no way inferior to their acoustic counterparts.Of course, the same applies to all the other sound colours of the SV-2, including numerous legendary electric piano models (reed, tine, FM, electromechanical etc.) including authentic reproductions of the typical background noises as well as the matching vintage effects and speaker simulations. The organ sounds also honour their role models in terms of sound and are represented by a large selection of tonewheel, tube, transistor and pipe organs. The SV-2 also offers funky clav sounds, numerous string and ensemble sounds, choirs, wind instruments and classic synthesiser pads, leads and bass sounds.Using the free editor software for Mac and PC, layer and split sounds with up to three different timbres can be created (for example a piano/bass split with an additional string layer) and saved as one of the now 64 favourite sounds. Thanks to the extended polyphony of 128 voices, even long sustained chords are no problem when using multiple layers. All SV-2 models are equipped with KORG's tried-and-tested RH3 keyboard, which with its hammer action and graduated weighting over four zones conveys the authentic feel of a concert grand piano. Both the SV-2 and the SV-2 S are available with either 73 or 88 keys.
