The Nord Wave 2 is a powerful 4-zone performance synthesiser that combines virtual analogue, sample, FM and wavetable synthesis in an intuitive, layer-focused interface.

The new monitor mode shows your amp envelope and filter settings in the programme display for better overview and control.

Wave 2 features a programme layer section with faders for easy control of volume or pan for all 4 layers simultaneously. The layer section also offers practical functions for quick layer focus, panorama control, solo and multi-editing.

The new group function allows you to group 2, 3 or 4 layers and apply the same filter, envelope, arpeggiator, LFO and effect settings to them - perfect for creating complex, multi-layered sounds that can be edited as one cohesive sound.

The oscillator section offers 4 modes for each of the 4 layers: Analogue, Wavetable, FM and Samples and can be easily browsed with the new category mode. The oscillator control offers additional control via Shape, Sync or Detune.

The Wave 2 features a powerful multi-oscillator unison effect with real "super waves". Extremely fat sounds are created from hundreds of superimposed waves.

The sample section has 1 GB of memory and comes with a large selection of quality samples, including strings, brass, guitars, choirs, chromatic percussion and the exclusively licensed sounds of the legendary Mellotron and Chamberlin. All sounds are easily interchangeable with the Nord Sound Manager.

Creating your own sample instruments has never been easier than with the new, optimised Nord Sample Editor 3 for Mac and Windows, which allows you to transfer, map and loop samples to your Nord Wave 2 in no time at all.

The filter section features 6 filter types with classic 12 and 24 dB low pass, a high pass, high pass/low pass and a band pass filter, as well as an amazing emulation of the Transistor Ladder Filter from the legendary Mini.

The unique modelling of these filters captures the true character and response of classic analogue instruments, allowing for flexible and precise sound design. The filter section is equipped with a full ADSR envelope.

The Wave 2 provides each layer with a selection of waveforms via a dedicated LFO as well as an AD/AR modulation envelope with dedicated speed setting and inversion mode. The LFO has several modulatable parameters and the clock rate can be synchronised to the master clock.

The amp section features a full ADSR envelope equipped with a powerful new transient attack mode to add punch to your sounds.

The Wave 2 has an extensive selection of morphable parameters that can be controlled from four different sources: Velocity, Aftertouch, Wheel and Control Pedal. All morph sources can be quickly assigned to control multiple parameters simultaneously. With the powerful Impulse Morph function, you can instantly change any parameter of your sound.

Instantly assign LFO, oscillator control or filter to the modulation wheel.

The Nord Wave 2 is a true rhythmic powerhouse with a classic arpeggiator and a polyphonic mode with directly editable patterns.

The poly mode is a polyphonic arpeggiator that sounds all held keys either linearly or in sequence with different inversions, creating exciting new harmonic variations.

The brand new Gate mode chops up your sound in a rhythmic pattern with adjustable depth.

The Wave 2's Master Clock allows you to synchronise the LFO, arpeggiator and various effects, either internally or via an external MIDI clock. The master clock synchronisation allows you to synchronise 4 layers with individual patterns, all perfectly synchronised with delays and LFOs. With the Tap Tempo function, you can easily tap the tempo of a drummer or the playback of tracks.

A separate effects section for each layer with a wide selection of instantly customisable, high-quality stereo effects modelled on classic stomp boxes.

All effects are controllable via the Control Pedal (or other Morph sources) and can also be synchronised to the Master Clock for rhythmic effects.

New features include creative new feedback options for adding ensemble, chorus, vibe, HP/LP and BP filters in the feedback loop.

Like all Nord instruments, the Nord Wave 2 is handcrafted in Nord's Stockholm factory with incredible attention to detail and quality control.
