The Austrian Audio OC-S10 in the Studio Set is a versatile large diaphragm microphone that is ideal for both solo instruments and lead vocals. With its precise sound reproduction and various directional characteristics, it is a real all-round talent that will find its place in any studio.
The microphone is based on a condenser transducer principle and offers a large diaphragm that ensures a detailed and transparent recording. You can choose between different polar patterns: Cardioid, wide cardioid, hypercardioid, omnidirectional and figure of eight. This flexibility allows you to optimise the microphone to the respective recording situation. Whether you are recording vocals, acoustic instruments or even polyphonic recordings, the OC-S10 always delivers outstanding results.
With a limiting sound pressure level of up to 147 dB, or 157 dB with pad, you can easily record even louder sources without distortion. The integrated pad switch reduces the voltage of the capsule and ensures that you get clear and unadulterated sound quality even at high volumes. The integrated low-cut filter, which can be set at 40 Hz, 80 Hz and 160 Hz, works with a second-order filter up to 80 Hz and a first-order filter up to 160 Hz.
Particularly noteworthy is the possibility of subsequent editing of the directional characteristic and the use of (pseudo) stereo techniques with the free StereoCreator and PolarDesigner plug-ins from Austrian Audio. This gives you creative freedom in post-processing and allows you to customise the sound to your liking. With a second OC-S10, you can also switch and compare real stereo microphone techniques afterwards, which is not possible with different pairs as they cannot be placed in the same position.
The OC-S10 Studio Set comes with a high-quality metal spider with ball joint, a pop shield made of a frameless metal grille, a high-quality wooden case for the microphone and a sturdy hard case for everything so that you can transport and store it safely. With a weight of 710 g, it is also robust yet handy.
Overall, the Austrian Audio OC-S10 in the studio set is an excellent choice for musicians and producers who value quality and versatility. It offers everything you need for professional recordings and will impress you with its sound and flexibility.
