The Catapult Mini RX is designed to act like the transmit end of a typical analogue 4-channel audio snake, allowing you to send microphone or line level signals from one location to another without experiencing signal loss, noise or interference and without the need for digital audio conversion.
It is the component made to receive the signals from a transmitting component such as the Catapult Mini TX (sold separately). Instead of using a multi-channel analogue audio cable, which can be bulky and expensive, the Catapult system allows you to use a widely available, lightweight and economical Cat 5 Ethernet cable. Simply connect a shielded Cat 5 cable between 2 matched Catapult modules and they use the cable's analogue conductors to deliver 4 balanced audio lines to each destination. As many buildings are already pre-wired with Cat 5, you can use this to transmit audio between remote rooms without the need to install or supply new cable. And because the Catapult system is modular, you can mix and match different transmitter and receiver boxes to best suit your situation.
